MY OPINION REGARDING TO THE ISSUED DEPED ORDER NO. 049 S22
Under DepEd No. 049 s2022 issued Wednesday, DepEd instructed teachers and other personnel to "avoid relationships, interaction, and communication, including following social media with learners outside of the school setting, except if they are relatives." This issue garnered a lot of reactions from netizens. It is hotly debated; some responses agree, and some disagree. Each opinion has its point, expressed by stating the pros and cons of the DepEd order. If you were to ask, would you agree or disagree? After hearing this issue, my reaction was, "Huh!" The first thing that came to mind was how students in urgent need could approach the teacher if communication outside the school setting is prohibited. Messenger is where students and teachers communicate if they are outside of school. Group chats are where the teacher sends important announcements or if a student wants to ask something important; the teacher being friends on social media does not mean the teacher ...
